• Don’t be afraid to put some items on the counter if you think it will improve office efficiency and keep people from digging through supplies they don’t need, displacing your organization. Obviously you can only do this in moderation or else you’ll make a mess, but countertops are provided so you can use them after all. Store disposable coffee cups right next to the coffee machine, and make sure there’s always a fresh stock waiting. Put the coffee packets there too, along with creamer and sugar. Prevent your employees from digging through the contents of your shelves. Common office supplies like pencils, staples, and pens can also be left out in a limited quantity.
