When you’re trying to come up with some themed retail display ideas for your store for Halloween, it’s a great idea to make use of your mannequins. In fact, these are some of the easiest Halloween retail display ideas around! You don’t necessarily need to do anything fancy to get a great display set up. Here are a few quick and cheap ideas:
1. Dress up a mannequin as a ghost. All you need to do this is an old white sheet! Just poke eyeholes in it and throw it over the top of one of your mannequins, and you will have a great display. It only takes a few minutes to get this one ready, and it looks great in a Halloween retail display window.
2. Wrap up a mannequin like a mummy. Get some muslin or gauze and wrap it up around your mannequin and you’ll have an instant mummy. You can tear the muslin in spots so that you have a tattered, timeworn look. Note that you don’t necessarily need to have a mannequin to do either this idea or the proceeding one. Another object that’s the right height and general shape can easily be disguised as either a ghost or a mummy. If you need to, you can add some stuffing inside to suggest the outlines of a person, and nobody will ever know the difference.
3. Dress a mannequin up like a witch. This is an easy costume because you basically just need something black. A simple black frock or a skirt and a top will do fine. It’s all in the accessories. You’ll need a black witch hat and a broom, but those two items all by themselves are usually enough to suggest a witch! Integrate lighting well into your display and you can create a dramatic effect even with simple attire.
4. Style your mannequins like trick-or-treaters. You can do this whether you put costumes on them or not. The key is to give them trick-or-treat bags or pumpkins. You can take the traditional route and fill them with candy, or you can do something a little more creative, like filling them with your products. This is a great way to tell customers that what you are offering them is a real treat!
5. If you don’t want to dress up your mannequins in costumes, aim for fall and Halloween colors. Halloween colors are traditionally black and orange, but green and purple have become associated with the holiday as well. Other warm autumnal tones can work as well. If you are selling attire, think about what clothing would work well for the season and garb your mannequins in that.
Your mannequins make excellent retail display models for your merchandise, but also can serve as decorative items in your Halloween store displays. Setting them up doesn’t have to be expensive, involved, or time-consuming. You should now be off to a great start, and hopefully this list inspired you with a few creative ideas of your own!
