Why opt for plastic storage containers as your primary organizational tool? There are many different uses for plastic bins, though you could just as easily choose other methods of organizing: wood crates, cardboard boxes, or even metal containers. Plastic has a number of advantages over these other materials, however. Here are just a few of the reasons that plastic bins for storage are ideal in many situations:
• Lightweight. Plastic bins don’t add much in the way of weight, whereas other materials like wood or metal can add quite a bit. If you are working in industry and need to cart around supplies, plastic definitely makes it easier. If you are looking for a self-storage solution, plastic bins are ideal since moving them from your home to your storage facility or back is easy.
• Durable. Cardboard is a tempting choice for many people in their basements, self-storage units, attics, or even in retail stockrooms. But cardboard has some major drawbacks. For one thing, it falls apart easily. Cardboard boxes wear easily at the edges and may burst open, even if they have been secured with tape. You won’t have that problem with plastic.
