Do you work with electronics? If so, you probably need to stock up on supplies which are made out of ESD materials. These specially designed plastics are able to protect sensitive electronic parts from static electricity. Static electricity can damage circuitry and other electronics. ESD materials additionally protect contents from flammable liquids and gases.
There are a variety of different types of materials which protect electronics and which work through different means. Insulative plastics are hard to ground, and are often confused with ESD plastic, but they are technically not ESD at all. Types of ESD plastic include anti-static, dissipative, and conductive plastic. We carry a range of conductive ESD totes and other supplies for your electronics. The concept of conductive plastic may seem counterintuitive at first since you are trying to protect your parts from static, but conductive ESD plastic does an excellent job. Because bins made out of this material conduct well, they carry charges to ground instead of to their contents. The alternative pathway they provide for electricity keeps charges clear of the parts. Here is what we have in stock:
• Conductive ESD bins. Our range of conductive ESD boxes includes shelf bins, stack and lock bins, ultra stack and hang bins, and dividable grid containers. We carry our bins in a variety of sizes so that you can store small, large, and medium electronic parts. Our dividable plastic bins are perfect for perfect for when you want to keep your electronics consolidated without mixing small parts together. The ESD plastic protects the bin contents from static cling while keeping your parts ordered.
• Conductive ESD systems. Our systems and racks include louvered panels, bench racks, rail systems, and louvered racks. These are excellent if you have a storeroom or work area, or even if you operate a sales floor, and you need to display electronic products outside of their boxes. You can fit conductive ESD stack and lock bins on these panels. The racks themselves contribute to the protection for your parts. Alternately, we also sell chrome wire shelving which is ideal for stacking your conductive ESD plastic bins and totes. Our shelf bins go very well on chrome wire shelves.
• Conductive ESD trays. Sometimes you need to handle and transport electronics, particularly if you work in a setting where electronics are assembled into larger components. To safely transport materials, conductive ESD trays are needed. These trays are able to withstand extremely high and low temperatures, and are made out of reinforced fiberglass. Extra strong, they are designed to accommodate up to 200 pounds of weight capacity.
Electronic parts are often expensive to manufacture or purchase, and because they are so sensitive, they are easily damaged by static cling and other hazards. Protect your electronic parts with conductive ESD plastic, and you will save yourself time and money. If you work in the electronics industry, or even if you are a hobbyist, ESD plastic is an indispensable tool in your organizational toolbox.
