One of the biggest reasons that people tend to avoid getting organized in the home or office is a fear of racking up large expenses. Thankfully there are a lot of inexpensive organization solutions out there. If you want to save money, you can first carefully take stock of the mess in your house and figure out exactly what you need. Then you can consider purchasing some of these inexpensive organizing containers.

• Cups. If you have some old cups lying around, these make for great organizational supplies! Plastic cups generally work best since they are not going to break if they topple over, but old glasses and mugs can also be perfect. These are especially handy around the office for storing pens and such, but you may also find uses for them in the kitchen and other areas.

• Mason jars. Mason jars are a cheap organization idea, and a very popular one these days too. Mason jars not only are versatile and great for storing many different types of items in different areas of your house, but they are also very cute, and can help lend a rustic look to your home. Plastic bins are great because you can purchase them in any size and quantity you need, and they come in every color you can imagine. Transparent plastic bins are also great, because like wire baskets, they make it easy to see what you have inside. They are lightweight, affordable, and you can seal them to protect what is inside from the elements. They are perfect for storing anything, whether it is toys, tools, dry good in your kitchen, or socks.

Organizing around the home or office does not have to be expensive. Many of these supplies are things you can buy for just a few dollars, and odds are you already have some of these organizational items on hand around the house. If you know you are going to need to buy supplies, it is a great idea to walk around with a notebook and write down all the items that will need a home.
