Can you believe it’s almost time for the holidays? They’ll be here sooner than you think, and the more prepared you are, the easier it will be to do all the shopping, gifting, cooking, and party-planning! One of the most helpful supplies you can have for the holidays are plastic storage boxes. Here are a few uses for holiday storage bins!
• Gift wrap storage container. Gift wrap can become such a mess if you just store it in the open. Rolls can unfurl, and wrap you have tried to store folded up can easily get squashed and wrinkled. You can solve this problem by storing your rolls and your folded gift wrap in plastic storage totes. Get a long, narrow bin for your rolls and store it upright or on its side. Large and medium totes are good for your folded gift wrap and bows.
• Plastic bins for ribbons. A Christmas ribbon storage box is another useful supply for your gift wrapping area. These boxes can help you to keep your ribbons rolled up. You can actually purchase boxes with rolls inside them, but if you don’t find one of these, just get a regular plastic bin with dividers. Put each ribbon on its original roll in each of the compartments. The dividers will keep the rolls in place so they do not come un-spooled.
• Plastic containers for tree ornaments. Another handy use for plastic storage containers is keeping your ornaments neatly and safely stored. Tree ornaments are often fragile, and their hooks can also easily end up getting linked together. This can create stress, pulling the hooks out of shape and sometimes damaging the ornaments. That’s why you want to use a plastic bin with dividers to keep each ornament in its own compartment. You don’t need a specialty supply. Just get a regular plastic tote that comes with compartments.
• Holiday card storage boxes. Get a couple of storage boxes for your incoming and outgoing cards. This is the best way to keep them nice and neat and stop them from piling up in a big mess each year. You can even store them this way over the years to come. Oftentimes when people don’t have a system for storing cards, they just end up either in the trash or shoved away in a file where they’re never seen again. If you store them in the boxes, you can bring them out each year and enjoy the memories.
• Food storage boxes. Chances are good you have a number of parties to either host or attend this holiday season. Food storage boxes are great for storing leftovers, bringing hors d’oeuvres over to peoples’ houses, or sending extra goodies home with your guests.
As you can see, there are many ways you can make good use of plastic bins this holiday season. So stock up on them now while it’s still the beginning of the holidays. They will help you stay organized and on track with all your holiday fun this year.
