This time of year, I always have a hard time believing that it’s already almost time for Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. I love getting cozy while it’s starting to get cold outside, cooking up a storm, and spending time with my loved ones. It’s a time of year for crafting and cuisine and getting ready for Christmas. As it turns out, it’s also a time of year when plastic storage bins come in handy! What can you do with plastic storage containers this Thanksgiving?
• Small plastic food containers are perfect for storing leftovers from your Thanksgiving feast. They are also great for sending leftovers home with your family and friends. Make sure you buy some extra containers for your freezer. There is no reason to throw any food away! Who doesn’t want a taste of Thanksgiving weeks after the holiday is over?
• Plastic containers are great for craft projects. Bins are very helpful for organizing your supplies while you are working. There are so many fun Thanksgiving crafts you can try! They are great for sprucing up the house, spending more time with your loved ones, and giving as gifts throughout the holiday season.
• Consider setting up your holiday gift station early in the season. This is the perfect time to pick up a gift wrap plastic storage container. The sooner you get your gift station ready, the easier it will be to stay organized during the holiday shopping rush. Black Friday is after all the day after Thanksgiving, and many of us will be heading to the stores right after we finish our Thanksgiving meals! You want to have your gift station all set up and waiting for you when you get back. That way you can get everything stowed away or wrapped up early in the season. Then you can focus on party planning and decorating!
• Use storage bins as plastic donation boxes. There are so many people who cannot enjoy a Thanksgiving meal at home, and this is the season to put others first. If you are organizing a food drive at your workplace or a volunteer center, get a couple of large plastic totes and set them out with a sign. This makes it easy to take in donations.
• Set up seasonal sensory play bins. If you have very small children, they may enjoy a Thanksgiving-themed sensory play bin! Sensory play bins are all the rage these days. It’s a great trend which encourages your child to explore the world around them and develop cognitive and social skills. Fill a bin with popcorn kernels, ears of dried corn, gourds, acorns, fallen leaves, and more.
Thanksgiving is such a busy time of the year, and it only gets busier after the holiday! So stock up on plastic bins now for all of your Thanksgiving activities, recipes, and gifts. You’ll be glad you did, especially since you can use those same bins throughout the winter holidays for even more fun activities.
